Shibusa

design : F. Rota

Lounge chair.

Structure: turned bamboo, treated with water-based products that do not affect the wood colour and the naturalness of the surface. Plastic spacers.
Seat and backrest: tatami panel in igusa.

Notes:
For the production of tatami mats, igusa is traditionally left in its natural colour. Paola Lenti is proposing a decidedly contemporary version this year, characterized by a delicate multicoloured pattern that gives this material a modern textile look.

The product can be used only in interior environments.

Characteristics
The rush called Igusa, which has always been cultivated in Japan, is the traditional material used to make the tatami. This material has the ability to filter and purify the air, retaining harmful substances existing in the environment, and to absorb and release moisture, creating a constant microclimate. Igusa is a resistant yet delicate material that needs care and attention: it matures over time without loosing its structural characteristics, turning from a light green to a straw yellow hue. We recommend a daily cleaning with a soft brush and a deeper cleaning simply with a moist cloth.
